Underground Operations - The Booyco Cap Lamp is a light weight Li-Ion Cap Lamp with superior optical and light characteristics. The robust and Flame-retardent polycarbonate enclosure ensures ease of maintenance and lowers the cost of ownership. The Booyco Cap Lamp carries an IP68 Protection Rating and is SANS1438 approved. This latest battery technology has a (3) three year life span. The intelligent personnel tag is built into the cap lamp cover, providing a headlight blinking to warn the pedestrian of the approaching vehicle. This is an RF repeater, which receives a VLF signal and re-transmits the RF signal within the VHF / UHF band. The Tag's current consumption is less than 0,1mA. The tag transmits only when the tag is in a hazardous area or when a request is received from the reader. Therefor, tags do not pollute EM environment. The Intelligent Buzzer Unit is a high-performance military spec buzzer which is installed in the harness running from the battery to the miner's cap-lamp. The unit includes colour LED's mounted on the PCB that light up and change colour depending on the pedestrian's proximity to the vehicle along with audible beeping, i.e. as the pedestrian moves from the warning zone to the slow zone.
