HYDROPOWERED or WATER ROCKDRILL
Novatek water rockdrills are used for drilling of blastholes and roofbolt holes. Drilling rates are much higher than pneumatic drills and ability in fractured rock is excellent due to the independent rotation system. Energy usage is typically 80% less than pneumatic drills. • Available to suit a range of operating pressures. • Lightweight and ergonomic; able to be operated by a single person. • Use as a jackdrill (with a thrustleg) or on a drill feed. May be remote operated for feed use. • Able to use 22 mm drillsteel (up to 1.5 m length) or 25 mm drillsteels. • Able to recirculate up to 75% of exhaust water (with additional hose). • In production use since 1991.

BLASTHOLE CLEANER, DESLUDGER
The Novatek hydropowered blasthole cleaner is used to remove drilling cuttings and water from drilled blastholes before charging with explosives. It ensures that the hole can be charged to the full depth and that excess water is removed – especially important if ANFEX is being used to avoid misfires and short breaking. The Novatek blasthole cleaner has the following features: • 3 Operating positions o Shut off o Flushing – high pressure water is sprayed into the bottom of the hole via 8 nozzles to wash out drilling cuttings. o Drying – water flow through the body causes a jet-pump effect which sucks excess water out of the blasthole via the 8 nozzles. • Integrated handle and discharge hose for ease of use. • Length of cleaning lance to suit required hole depth. The blasthole cleaner has a powerful spraying action and may also be used to remove misfires, following to normal mine safety procedures.

HYDROPOWERED LINEAR MOTOR
The Novatek hydropowered linear motor is a reciprocating motor, single or double-acting that has a high force output and is capable of slow speed operation. This makes it ideal for applications requiring fine control, such as a driver for emulsion explosive pumps. It has the following features: • Simple on/off valve is required; various types may be used. • The motor automatically cycles until the valve is released. • The output piston reciprocates at the rate of about 1 Hz or less (depending on stroke length). This speed can be controlled via orificing. • Force, stroke and speed can be changed within the design parameters. The Novatek linear motor is used on hydropowered emulsion explosive loaders. Applications include: • Pumping of emulsion explosives into blastholes. • Pumping of grout into support holes.
